FOR PEOPLE LIVING WITH OSTEOARTHRITIS

Standard 9. Measuring Quality Care

We collect data for any health care intervention or program to prove that it’s working. You may be asked to fill out surveys that will help improve OA care in Alberta.

Surveys

If you’re asked to fill out a survey, remember that your answers are confidential. You don’t have to do the survey if you don’t want to.

If you choose to fill out a survey, there are 2 questions you may be asked:

  • Questions about your experiences with your care. Your answers can be used to make the care better for you and the people coming after you
  • Questions about your pain, movement, and mood. Your answers can be used to understand if your care plan is working for your osteoarthritis. Your answers can also help us understand if osteoarthritis care in Alberta is improving or where it needs to be improved

Measuring Change in Osteoarthritis Care in Alberta

Acute Care Alberta in partnership with the Institute for Improved Health Outcomes (IIHO) are committed to making big improvements in Alberta’s osteoarthritis care, especially the non-surgical management of osteoarthritis.

This work will take time as it means building many partnerships with many kinds of providers and with people like you, who are managing their osteoarthritis. The more information we have, the better we understand the strengths and weakness of osteoarthritis care in Alberta.
